Sheree Fitch

Sheree Fitch We are honoured, humbled and over the moon to have Sheree Fitch as the main presenter at the Milton Book Festival this year. Her ever popular book, Sleeping Dragons All Around, has been reissued this past spring to celebrate its 20th anniversary as a Canadian children’s classic. Her contributions to children’s literature here in Canada is legendary – over 20 books written for children and young adults, leading to her receipt of the prestigious Vicky Metcalf award for a body of work inspirational to Canadian children in 1999.

She is a favourite author at literary and book festivals as her written work has been described as “exuberant, joy filled and wise.” while her readings and presentations as ‘magical’ and ‘inspirational’. Sheree has always been very generous to divide her time at home in New Brunswick with the invitations she receives from across the country.

According to Sheree, “a book cannot be a book unless it is read, a poem cannot be a poem unless it is said.” Sheree will be making sure that books are books and her poems are poems when she joins us in November.
